Lighthouse - through the darkness, it shines the light to guide you home. For me, my Lighthouse is Yoga.
I invite you to join the Lighthouse Community. It is for the curious ones seeking a different way to live and feel more fully. To share, to support and to guide each other home.
Yoga has reshaped my perception of life to a more colourful, creative and connected experience.
The ancient teachings woke me up to the possibility of a lighter, brighter future which continues to navigate me through the ever-changing challenges of middle age and now the new normal.
Covid19 has been de-stabilising. To feel more stable and secure, the best place to begin is to really embody your physical body. From a grounded place, you can transform your experience. General yoga classes are a great place to start. Private Yoga Therapy is recommended if general classes are a challenge.
The first time I attended a yoga class, it was like putting in the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle. I left feeling more connected and complete. I didn’t understand exactly what it was, but it made enough of a shift to know that this was the medicine I needed.
I became a yoga teacher in 2007 and continue to study. However, it wasn’t until 2012, when I qualified as a Yoga Therapist from Yogacampus, that I began to wake up to the transformational power of yoga. The importance of offering a holistic approach that integrates the ancient yogic models and relevant scientific findings gave me a structure to work within.
Once I began to experience and understand the positive effects, I felt more inspired to share these ancient teachings to make a difference to those feeling unfulfilled, stressed or in need of some support.
Yoga Therapy works alongside Western medicine. It is a perfect path for those with chronic diseases that are stress-related or for those who are feeling overwhelmed with change. I am passionate about the power of yoga to transform, tone and tune in to the radiant light that you are!

One of my favourite frameworks for integrated healing is the Panchamaya Koshas (Pancha meaning five and Maya and kosha meaning body sheaf/veil/illusion). It offers a framework to wake up to each of the five energy fields that veil our true essence, the Atmamaya kosha. Gradually we experience the gross and wake up to the more subtle states.
Let's begin our self-exploration
The Annamaya Kosha - the Physical/Food Body
The physical body is the densest, gross manifestation of spirit. It is our vehicle to connect and communicate. At this level, we identify only with the physical body and often feel separate from existence. At this level of consciousness, it is normal to be led by desire, fear, and a feeling of lack, looking outside ourselves to feel fulfilled.
Yoga asanas and sattvic food (Plant-based) help us be more conscious. As we pierce through the illusion to the other four koshas, we realise that our spirit/energy is not separate. We feel the Oneness.
The Pranamaya Kosha - The Physiological Body
The Manamaya Kosta - The Mental & Emotional Body
The Vijnanamaya Kosta - The Wisdom Body
Anandamaya Kosta - Our Bliss Body
The more awareness we cultivate of the health of each kosha then, the more balanced and healthy and whole we will be.
