New Moon in Virgo: Small Shifts, Meaningful Change
A moment to simplify, reset and come home to what really matters.
This New Moon in Virgo arrives with a beautifully simple message:
What could you change in your everyday life that would help you feel better?
Virgo energy isn't necessarily about making dramatic changes. It reminds us that our Wellbeing often comes from the little things we do repeatedly. How we begin our mornings, how we nourish ourselves, how much we move, how well we rest, what we give our attention to, and how we speak to ourselves.
This New Moon at 18° Virgo 04:27 on Friday, 11th September in the UK (the energy being felt 3 days before and after) is particularly supportive of reviewing our health, habits, routines, and the practical structures of everyday life.
Rather than striving for perfection, we can use this moment to simplify.
What is working?
What has become unnecessarily complicated?
What are you doing simply because you've always done it?
And what might happen if you made one small change?
From Thinking to Doing
There is also a wonderful sense of movement around this New Moon.
Ideas may arrive quickly. Conversations can open new doors. We may suddenly see something from a completely different perspective.
But insight becomes truly valuable when we embody it.
So instead of writing ten New Moon intentions, perhaps choose just one.
Move your body every morning.
Return to your yoga mat.
Walk in nature.
Drink more water
.
Create a better sleep ritual.
Book the treatment you've been promising yourself.
Make space for meditation.
Clear one drawer rather than the entire house!
Virgo reminds us that small acts of self-care, repeated consistently, can become acts of self-respect.
A Simple New Moon Yoga Practice
You don't need an elaborate ritual for this New Moon.
Roll out your mat and begin by standing quietly in Tadasana (Mountain Pose)
Feel your feet.
Notice your breath.
Notice where you are now, rather than where you think you should be.
Move through a few gentle Sun Salutations, add some grounding standing poses and twists, and finish with a forward fold or Child's Pose before resting in Savasana.
Then ask yourself:
What does my body need from me now?
Try not to analyse the answer
.
Listen.
Creating Balance Between Head and Heart
Alongside Virgo's practical influence, there is an interesting opening for new perspectives and more balanced conversations. Mercury's move into Libra brings themes of fairness, listening and seeing another point of view, while Venus moving into Scorpio invites us beneath the surface towards greater emotional honesty and depth.
So this reset isn't only about organising our diaries or improving our diets.
It can also be about becoming more discerning about where we put our energy.
Which relationships nourish you?
Which commitments still feel meaningful?
Where are you giving too much?
Where might you need to communicate more clearly?
And where could you make more room for joy?
Let Serenity Space Hold Some Space for You
For my Lighthouse Yoga community, remember that you are always warmly welcome at Serenity Space, at home in London SW18 and on tour!
Sometimes our intention to take better care of ourselves needs something tangible behind it.
Book the yoga or Pilates class. Have the massage. Try a therapy. Allow yourself an hour when you don't need to achieve anything at all.
And while our Summer Sales are still available, this could be the perfect opportunity to invest in your wellbeing now and give your future self something to look forward to.
Rather than thinking of wellbeing as another task on your list, perhaps think of it as creating a rhythm that supports the life you want to live.
Or, Come Away With Me to Ibiza ☀️
Sometimes we need more than an hour.
Sometimes we need to change the scenery altogether.
Next month I'm returning to beautiful Northern Ibiza with friends for Zumba with Ralph from 1st-5th October, followed by our Naughty Shorty Pilates Retreat with Genine Adams from 5–8 October.
Picture some morning movement, Pilates, sunrise yoga, nourishing food, Mediterranean sunshine, laughter, rest and time simply to be.
There is something incredibly powerful about stepping away from our normal environment.
Without the washing, emails, appointments and everyday demands, we begin to hear ourselves again.
A retreat doesn't have to be about escaping your life.
It can be about creating enough space to remember how you want to live it when you return home
.
If you've been thinking about joining us, perhaps allow this New Moon to be the little nudge you've been waiting for.
Your Virgo New Moon Invitation
Over the coming days, keep it simple.
You don't need to reinvent yourself.
Choose one thing to release, one thing to begin and one thing to nourish.
Perhaps write these three questions in your journal:
What can I simplify?
What small habit would genuinely support my health and happiness?
What would I love to make more room for?
Then take one practical step.
Because intentions are beautiful, but it is the small choices we make afterwards that slowly change our lives.
Clear a little space.
Return to your body.
Listen to what you need.
Choose what nourishes you.
And begin again.
Wishing my Lighthouse Yoga community a beautiful New Moon and a gentle, nourishing reset.
With love and New Moon blessings,
Trish 🌙✨
